Samsung Files Patent for Flexible Smartphones



Samsung has had a history of innovations, and now the company has filed multiple applications to register a patent for devices that are speculated to be foldable smartphones. The patent application reveals a concept of a flexible display with hinges. 

The patent application was filed at US Patent and Trademark Office by Samsung on June 9, 2015, under the patent umber US 9,55,771 B2. In the depiction the device is supported by mechanical hinge in the middle. 

The devices could feature a display folding outwards alongside a display on the front and back as well. It is also said the foldout smartphone could further turn into a 7-inch tablet when unfolded. 

Last year, Samsung had filed another patent for a foldable smartphone, which bends in the middle to acquire the shape of a flip phone. The patent was eventually approved. As per the renders on the patent, the mobile can bend from middle. The cool part about the patent was its ability to bend without using the force of other hand
